NUESTRO CAMINO EN SHAKESPEARE COMPETITION

Desde el año 2017 el Colegio Madrid ha participado en Shakespeare Competition, evento interescolar organizado por The Anglo Arts & Culture. Esta iniciativa rinde homenaje a William Shakespeare, el mayor dramaturgo de habla inglesa, a través de la interpretación de un monólogo y un soneto a elección de cada joven.

Mientras participan en nuestro taller interno de preparación los estudiantes viven una experiencia única y enriquecedora, que vaya mucho más allá de la memorización de las líneas o su actuación sobre el escenario. Junto a su coach, ellos tienen la oportunidad de explorar la profundidad y la belleza del idioma inglés a través de uno de los textos escritos por Shakespeare, mientras descubren de manera significativa y expresiva, la complejidad de cada personaje y la intensidad de sus emociones. Esto fomenta el pensamiento crítico y la apreciación de los aspectos culturales, y permite a los alumnos conectar la literatura isabelina, con el mundo de hoy.

Mientras interpretan un intenso monólogo o un soneto lleno de romanticismo y energía, Shakespeare Competition les da a los estudiantes el espacio para encontrar su voz, mostrar su talento y experimentar el idioma inglés y la magia del teatro como forma de aprendizaje y crecimiento personal.

OUR  JOURNEY IN THE SHAKESPEARE COMPETITION

Since 2017, Colegio Madrid has taken part in the Shakespeare Competition, an interschool event organised by The Anglo Arts & Culture. This initiative pays tribute to William Shakespeare, the greatest playwright in the English language, through the performance of a monologue and a sonnet of each participant’s choice.

While taking part in our internal preparation workshop, students live a unique and enriching experience that goes far beyond memorising lines or performing them on stage. Along with their coach, they have the opportunity to explore the depth and beauty of the English language through one of Shakespeare’s texts, while discovering, in a meaningful and expressive way, the complexity of each character and the intensity of their emotions. This process fosters critical thinking and cultural appreciation, allowing students to connect Elizabethan literature with the modern world.

While performing a powerful monologue or a sonnet filled with romance and energy, the Shakespeare Competition gives our students the space to find their voice, showcase their talent, and experience the English language and the magic of theatre as a means of learning and personal growth.
